Freed-Air Force Blacks 2
What: Air Force Blacks is a social photography story depicting the reality of what it’s like for Black members of our communities who are often policed and oppressed by historically white systems and institutions. The gallery will feature a select group of Black individuals that Liz Clarke has chosen to spotlight and celebrate for their involvement and service in the Black community and the exhibit will be showcased at Club SAW in June (in accordance with Covid-19 regulations).
In their words: “Success for our group would look like virtual involvement and engagement from various Black community groups in Ottawa. We want to create a safe space for sensitive topics around grieving and mourning the Black lives we've lost. We hope that its success will be felt in the lives of the individuals who experience the gallery as well as those who take part in sharing their stories.“
