What

The Sexual Education Summit project is being facilitated by three youth on the Ottawa Youth Engagement initiative. Inspired by the recent changes to the provincial Sexual Education curriculum changes, the goal of this project is to provide important sexual education to youth across Ottawa. The goal of this project is not to promote abstinence education, but to improve young people’s knowledge about STBBIs (Sexually transmitted blood-borne infections), general reproductive health information, and connecting youth with local queer and trans organizations. Some other partners in this project include the Canadian service corps, Planned Parenthood, Action Canada, and Ottawa Public Health.

In their words: “This is a project that is made to benefit all youth. We appreciate any and all input you have about both programming and logistics in youth activities. We want to create an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome and safe.”
