I Dance to Express
What: Our mission is to express BIPOC identities through a street dance showcase. Street styles are born from a generation that had nothing but their identity to lose. This event will showcase the street dancers from the National Capital Region while also promoting body positivity and the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
In their own words: “Success would be a well-organized showcase with dancers who have benefited from our free training and mentorship. We believe this event would spark immense interest in the community and would enable us to make IDTE an annual event. This initiative is very important because it provides free dance training to marginalized peoples, often youth, who otherwise could not access such training.”
