Woke Studios

What: A musical album influenced by Neo-soul and Afrobeat in collaboration with emerging and established artists from Ottawa. This whole process will be filmed as a way to maximize the exposure and growth of the artists involved. The primary goal of the album will be to share the knowledge that unifies its listeners. This album will be highlighting social issues such as systemic racism, oppression, toxic masculinity and police brutality.

In their words: “Woke Studios sees success as a form of re-eduction, where the miseducation in different parts of our society that have led to a sense of no common ground for us all to stand on to be addressed. Through music which has been used as a tool to seek social justice in the past years and minority musicians, we hope to present unique perspectives and stories that shed a light on the issues in society today.”
