What
Win Win Homesharing is an alternative housing arrangement program where seniors and students live together. This housing arrangement provides mutual benefits to both the students and seniors, as seniors provide university students with safe, affordable housing, and students provide seniors with companionship and help with household tasks.
In their words: “The reality is that by 2013, almost a quarter of all Canadians will be above the age of 65, and yet, our care system relies on costly services and retirement homes. What we are proposing is an alternative that allows seniors to get paid while having their chores done for them and benefiting from added companionship.Furthermore, students are migrating farther and farther away from their downtown campuses because they can no longer afford to pay for those safer, more convenient locations in the current housing market. We are giving students a way to pay off their debts, make new life experiences, and become part of a bigger community through Win-Win Homesharing.”
