The BSLA seeks to engage, empower and educate the BIPOC community through positive and enlightening discussions which occur biweekly at the University of Ottawa Campus. We also host other philanthropic events like a food drive and fundraiser to give back to the Ottawa community.

In their words: “Success for our group looks like having students genuinely feel apart of something bigger than themselves and feeling like they have a sense of community especially for those new to the city. This initiative is important, especially in a climate where racism is active on university campuses, we want students to feel like they have a place, that their voices are being heard and a place to speak freely on the hardships they’ve endured .”
