What

The Youth of Today project is a youth-led initiative that aims to provide meaningful engagement and mentorship opportunities for youth living in Parkwood Hills. Through this project, participants at the Parkwood Hills Leadership program will plan and deliver various inclusive activities to create better opportunities for youth to work together on issues that matter to them. The Youth of Today project will allow participants to act on local issues impacting their neighbourhood and will provide them with opportunities to give back and contribute to their community.

In their words: “Success for our group can be represented by the increasing of capacity for the Parkwood Hills Leadership program to reach out and support youth at risk, newcomer youth and youth from low-income families through providing peer support and support the youth to build healthy, supportive relationships and remain engaged with their community. The youth also are looking to be part of other community-driven initiatives and enhance the confidence of the youth in decision making and inspire youth to engage with their communities by creating leadership opportunities for youth.”
